About the author
Born and raised in the Central Valley in California. My husband and I moved to Oregon while he was in the US Coast Guard and then to Texas for ten years before recently relocating to North Carolina. We spend our time with our two sons at all their events, screaming from the stands as they swim their hearts out!

BDSM subject matter
Intended for 18+
Not a love triangle
Is a Standalone Novel in a series
Has a HEA ending
In the beginning:
Maggie, oh sweet Maggie, she just wants to love and be loved by her husband, Sammy. But he can't give his whole heart to her, you see he can't be completely honest with her and he doesn't think she will understand, so instead of sharing his life with his wife, he pretends to the world that everything is perfect at home, but it is far from that. Then something happens to Sammy that finally sets Maggie free.
Maggie, Maggie, Maggie, how does a sweet innocent girl get mixed up in a whirlwind of trouble. She doesn't ask for trouble, in fact she is a good girl, but trouble seems to follow her around and stick to her like gum on a shoe. She left home at a young age to marry a professional baseball player, who promised her a happy ever after, but delivered a life of loneliness & confusion. When something happens to him, she decides that it is time to stop hiding from the world and live her life. The problem is that she has no clue who she is, or what she wants. So, she puts on her big girl panties and sets out to challenge and discover herself.
Enter ... Jackson. He knows exactly who she is and discovers rather quickly what she needs, even though she doesn't know it herself. He recognizes that Maggie is the missing puzzle piece in his life. As their relationship develops he quickly sees her as his future everything, everything he always wanted, but never thought he would find in just one person. She is his whole world, and she holds the power to shatter that perfect dream he has dared to dream for himself that is within his grasp.
He tries his hardest to stand back so she can come to the same conclusion, but she is so tempting, and he wants so desperately to expose her to a little kinky sex knowing she would love it if she would just give it a chance. Oops, he may have jumped the gun just a little too early. Hopefully, his scared little bunny doesn't make a beeline and run away.
The author does an excellent job of blending a shy inexperienced heroine with an intense, sexy, dominating and caring alpha man, who is in one hot beautiful muscled package. I mean, how many men will get good delicious take out & come into your kitchen, bypassing the paper products, & use real plates to serve you. So swoon worthy ! He's not perfect, and he's never had a girlfriend, so he has a couple of rocky moments, but he knows early on that she is what he truly desires, and he knows that he can make her happy too, if she will just relax and give him the opportunity. So, he goes about the task of winning her heart by giving her exactly what she needs, a warm & loving man, who dominates her world, without crushing her soul, and he finds himself falling even deeper in love with her. It just takes her a lot longer to realize that he is the perfect man for her. And, the more Maggie allows him to work his magic on her, the less skittish she becomes, and she discovers a love that burns so hot and bright, a love that neither one of them could ever imagine coming true. However, there are some pitfalls in their life that they must maneuver through if they want their happy ending. Does Maggie get her happy ending ?
Read about the out of control chaotic new life of Maggie & Jackson, also add a splash of the characters from the author's first Men of Baseball book "Pitching for Amalie". It is not necessary to read the first book to enjoy this one; however, you will love the supporting characters even more if you do. I recommend this sometimes funny, a little dark, very sexy, witty and well written book. It will have you laughing, crying, blushing, and rooting for Maggie and her sexy alpha baseball player until the end.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 10, 2016I really enjoyed the second in this series about a circle of ball players and their families. This time around, love and all the good and bad that comes with it, is Maggie Rogers’ struggle. Married to Sammy Rogers, the marriage that started out in a whirlwind has, years later, become something other than what she hoped for. The distance and mood swings seem to be growing and walking on eggshells makes each day a struggle. When Maggie faces a betrayal she couldn’t fathom, she takes the opportunity to explore, to find out who she really is and what she wants out of life and a relationship.
Devastated is a good word to describe the blows that Maggie must endure. She’s had to rely on herself growing up and even in her marriage. When given an opportunity to reach out and find someone who may just be the person she can truly partner with, there are even more hurdles to climb. Through it all though she remains true to herself….
A walk on the kinky side felt a bit awkward in spots but that was easy to overlook in a story of drama, emotion and the search for acceptance and love. There are lots of clues for the next instalment and I can’t wait to get my hands on Libby’s story!
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2016I am falling in love with Hayley Faiman's Men of Baseball series!! This is the second book and I love it just as much as the first. My heart goes out to Maggie. She fell in love and married a stranger. She only found out about his lies after his death. Sammy treated her badly while they were married, but she only learned the extent later. As she explores her late husband's secrets, she meets Jackson. He is Sammy's teammate. He immediately knows he wants Maggie. Their chemistry is incredible, and Jackson helps Maggie come into herself as a woman. As this happens, they form a bond of trust and love. Both have family drama and decide to create their own family. The story makes sense and progressed well. The characters were well developed and believable. I greatly enjoyed this book!!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 9, 2015Fantastic book!! The author does a great job of tying the sequel in with book one, Pitching for Amalie, but in a way that allows this book to stand on its own. So, even if you have never read book one (you're missing out!), you will thoroughly enjoy this book!
This book was a delicious escape, and makes waiting for book three feel like torture! When are the babies coming? What's going on with Libby? Does Jackson's father finally accept Maggie? Ugghh! January 2016 feels like a lifetime away!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 16, 2015I enjoyed this one just as much as the first! I cried for Maggie. Sammy treated her awful and she found out about all his lies after he was gone. She didn't deserve it! She meets Jackson and he's got a lot to prove to show her that he is worthy of her trust! This book is full of twist and turns and leaves you in suspense!
